Bank withdrawl limits from ATM’s (commonly known as bancomat’s in Italy) in Europe can be somewhat frustrating if you need a more than €250 a day.
Customer feedback has suggested that if you try to withdraw more than €250 from an ATM, the machine displays a message that the Card is not accepted or refers you to your bank. When you reduce the value to €250 or less, the transaction usually completes. Saying that other clients have indicated that the daily maximum you can withdraw is set by your financial institution. The maximum transaction (the amount that can be witrhdrawn at one time) is set by the machine (bancomat) and may be different on each machine. You can perform multiple transactions until you reach your daily limit.
